Peplum and Pumps

Back in the day people didn’t really care for pairing certain colors or warm colors worn together. How that has changed! These days, everything goes and you can't go wrong pairing two warm colors or wearing an outfit with two warm colors. Being a gal that likes to think outside the box in my styling, I gravitate towards and embrace any and every combo. Coloring outside the lines is a fine art after all and hey, bold red and orange hues are on trend and I am 100% on board.

So as you can imagine I went pop for this skirt. It’s a no brainer, every gal would feel pretty in this piece. I love the color combo and was drawn to it like a magnet. The vibrance of it, the playfulness and the girly peplum all worked in it’s favor. This skirt was also very fun and flirty and even though the fabric wasn’t that light and breezy, it flowed and swayed beautifully in the wind and believe me (at the risk of sounding like Donald Trump) it was very windy. Typical deceptive Cali weather, very sunny yet very windy and cold. I had hair in my mouth, in my eyes and hands flailing almost nonstop to keep the strands out. The struggle!

Chilling in my closet for months now, I had to style it now, not just cos it’s summer and it works but cos I’m on a color roll (seen my raffia skirt look ) and we all know how much in love with colors I am. You didn’t know that? Whaaatttt!! Ok for your benefit I’ll restate the obvious. I am such a colors girl, a purple/pink lover first and foremost and I commit to have fun with colors no matter what. Hmm, that kind of sounded like a pledge, LOL.

I paired the skirt with a cold shoulder (my favorite Summer 2016 fashion trend) mock neck bodysuit that has gotten a ton of wear lately. Pulled together and chic with a little help from the wide waist band, I completed the look with a pair of studded pumps and a wallet on a chain.
