Hi darlings hope you are making a dent on that shopping list. I am. I’m also still loving my surprise from a couple posts back. (here

I imagine that cold blogging will be a bit of a challenge. Bundle up while looking stylish in freezing temps. I’m already bursting out the layers at the slightest breeze (lol) and winter is not even officially here, not for another little less than a week.

If you are one of those that enjoy a very lasting love affair with your coats from seasons past then you’re all set. All you have to do is pull those winter staples to the front of the closet. But if you feel the need to add a couple or more coats to your arsenal, you’ll agree with me that it’s getting increasingly harder to narrow your finds down to one or a few for that matter. You are seriously coveting every style, finish, print, color, length and trend. There are a lot of fish in the sartorial sea, what’s a gal or dude to do?

Some things that might help and should be considered include your geographical location and its climate, your build/shape and what styles look great on you (you want to accentuate certain parts and downplay others), pricing/durability (you want to get the best bang for your buck), and how warm the coat is.
It doesn't get freezing cold in my part of the world so I can get away with not so thick coats.

Last year I committed to four coats - a pea coat with an exaggerated and detachable fur lapel, a leather coat, a double breasted trench and a lovely fur coat. I planned to wear one of the four to meet up with friends. I switched up the plans and wore this coat that just arrived in the mail, yayy.

A regular belted coat with an added luxury of an elaborate shawl collar, this chic piece was fun, trendy and versatile. Teamed with a matching skirt and lilac tank top underneath, this coat turned my look up a several notches. I finished off the look with thigh high boots. I didn’t get to experiment with a bold color in the form of an item of clothing so I went for bold bright lips. What else I added to the mix? A funky draped statement necklace that would literally breath life to the most simplistic ensemble. I say instant fashion impact. Your thoughts...

It’s definitely time to recommit to the coat. Are you coat shopping this season?  Done with that? Or are you in a long term relationship with finds from years past? I've have a certain statement coat from fashion week etched on my mind. I’ve thought of a million and one possible ways to style it, lol.

Enjoy your finds, I trust they are all great, :).

  25. It is hard for me to commit to one type of coat because coats like yours are just too glam to pass up. You look so good in gray. Beautiful from hat to toe. Love your style and this is just wonderful.
