Defined by Urban Dictionary as 'the act of wearing ridiculously uncomfortable shoes just so you look hot'.

Let’s talk about shoes baby,  let's talk about you and me, let's talk about all the good things all the bad things that may be, let's talk about shoes (Salt-N-Pepa voice), hehe.

We girls love our soles. Stilettos, boots, sandals, wedges, platforms, flats, name it, we love it! They speak to our aesthetics, our sexuality, update our outfits and even our attitudes sometimes. And boy do we sometimes lust after them like ham and egg in the morning. I feel a tinge of joy, an adrenaline rush each time I welcome home a new pair. We all have our vices right? Powerful stuff.

But no, my life is not dependent on acquiring shoes. Not by a long shot and I will most definitely not collapse and die if I had to wear the same uninteresting black flats with the miserable looking little flower detail on top of it for the rest of my life however, my smile may fade, my laughter may not be as hearty, my steps may not be as springy, my arrival may not be as heralded as with the click clack of heels, my elongated look would be gone as I’d appear shorter. I may wilt not die but my feet may smile more especially if I'm a shoepidity repeat offender which I'm not, thank goodness.

Today I want to talk about the brazenly sexy So Kate by Christian Louboutin. This baby seems to be very coveted. If you own a pair/s then you already know where I’m going with this. I resisted adding them to my arsenal (I know, I know, I say that a lot) for a long long time cos of the horrid stories I heard. It became a battle of the heart vs the head. Aesthetics won eventually. Yes, the heart won and I welcomed home the triplets in black, red and tan. My friend Obie literally begged me to return them. I turned deaf ears. But now I see why she did. Of all the shoes I own and I do own a lot, the So Kates are the most uncomfortable. You may stand in So Kates but sitting is recommended, while walking is like a hell no after just a few steps.

Makes me wonder why this style is so popular especially among bloggers. A case of following the herd? Or are most gals drawn to them purely for aesthetics like I was? While we can all sit with hair very well coiffured, our outfit hot off the runway, our legs perfectly crossed and looking pretty, I like to strut around when I’m in heels which is a lot of times. Can’t do much of that in these babies. If anyone has any ideas on how to strut comfortably in So Kates I’m dying to hear. What if anything helps? Works?  I’ll very happily try it out right away and give you a feedback. My solution thus far has been to wear them if I don’t have a lot of walking to do and that has worked out great.

Are you guilty of shoepidity? Let's talk..

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday! I plan on it. Thursday will be even funner as I celebrate my second son's birthday and gear up for a Halloween party on Saturday. What a fun week!

Thanks for stopping by, Xo.

Happy Wednesday style lovers!
You must have noticed the Rockstud craze that is sweeping the world. Major eye candy to say the least but what is it about  Rockstuds that keep them rocking? Comfort? Social media hype? Aesthetics? Edginess? Cliche? Most fashionistas out there own at least a pair. A close friend of mine the gorgeous Uyanda owns at least eight pairs. Me? Zip. Nada. Zero!

They come in two heel heights, the 2.5 inches and the 4 inches which is wonderful as this addresses the heel needs of a lot more gals. It also almost seems like the lower heel could be for a casual look and the higher heel for a dressier look. In terms of comfort, from what I hear you can probably run a marathon in them as they are many times more comfy than a lot of comparable brands.

But truth for me is they lack the classic elegance of Valentino pumps. I’m also more of a six inch heel kind of gal. So as much as I love the edgy studs, the cute color combo options and the fact that they're most likely not going anywhere anytime soon and may actually be headed towards becoming a classic, the IT shoes do not float my boat. Call me weird, or better still convert me into a Rockstud lover.

I came upon a youtube video that shows the craftsmanship in making them, pretty impressive. Take a watch.

How about you? Are you a Rockstud whore? Time for a roll call, hehe. Where are all my shoe sistas?  Any sole lovers/ collectors in the house? How many pairs do you own? Is social media fueling your addiction to these beauties or are you drawn to them for a whole different reason? And my sistas who just like me are dissing the Rockstuds? Any of you in the house?

Let's talk shoes, Xo...

Thank you for stopping by and have nothing short of a wonderful Wednesday, Xo..

I'm a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world. Are you? Lucky then because British shoe designer Sophia Webster has collaborated with Mattel to create shoes inspired by Barbie. Quirky meets pink and pretty. If there's such a thing as too pretty then this must be it. Move over Ken, hehe.

It's so exciting to know that Barbie’s feet will finally catch a break from wearing heels but did you ever think it'd be in sneakers? Or sandals? I’d have thought some pink, sequins covered and topped with glitter, fancy, dainty, ballet flats. Boy was I wrong even though this is as close as it gets.

Barbie isn’t giving up her heels entirely though. That would be scandalous you’d agree, hehe. She’s adding some whimsical pairs including the Chiara with Webster's popular butterfly design, the Tyra with stacked up colored balls for heels and the Leah.

This is such a welcome collaboration since Webster’s creations are nothing short of fanciful, playful, girly, pretty and fit for a doll. About time Barbie donned a few. The collection has nine styles. Six for adults including two trainers and one flat. Real life Barbies were not left out. There are three styles for little girls aka the most perfect dolls to chose from. I’m sure they’d look perfect in the 'looking glass' sporting the SW Barbie collection.

What are your thoughts on this collection?

So I ordered my Christian Louboutin lipsticks in Eton Moi and Zoulou both from the Velvet Matte finish. Just Nothing looked really good too. Bothersome though that only Saks Fifth Ave in New York has them in the US. To guarantee getting them, I preordered by adding my name and phone number to the growing list days ago. I hope to be smitten, :).
