When in doubt, wear
red blue and yellow - Fashionably Idu
Welcome back darlings! I trust you followed NYFW very closely and kept track of the emerging trends for Spring and Summer of 2016. Very exciting! How’s Marjorie Harvey's outfit for the 1st day (here) and every darn day of the week? Serious style take over!!! I love that gal!!! That escalator ride up at Marc Jacobs was awesome and the Marchesa show was off the hook! Loved them all like you did too I'm sure. The glitz and glam of the fashion world, what a thrill!! The spotlight now rests on London followed by Milan come Sept 23rd.
By the way, while it’s no New York Fashion Week, I was officially invited to SF Fashion Week and will be walking for one of the designers. Fitting is in a few short days. I’m thrilled to be recognized in my home city. There should be a lot of fun to be had there and I look forward to it all.
Summer is gradually winding down but I am all wound up and expressing my style in this bolder than life top, a runway piece that was featured in Paris SS15 runway. Paired with yellow pants, this look is best described as an epitome of a vibrant summer look. A very sunny combo indeed. Honestly I hang on to Summer way into Fall and for the most part I choose to have very colorful Fall/Winter seasons year after year so there's no end in sight for the brights. Just me being me, not rounding out my edges or I'll lose my edge, haha. They cheer me up on dark dreary Winter days anyways. You?
This top boasts such great detailing in the form of perforations, illusions of topstitches and appliqués / patchwork that add not just visual interest but some sort of an artistic allure. I've shied away from this designer in the past. Recently went adventurous and started embracing his avant garde / futuristic designs (here) and loving the great positive energy from them. Very cutting edge yet very playful. You’ve got to give it to this dude for creating such wearable art. I missed his showing this year but you can view his Paris S/S15 Fashion Week collection featuring this beautiful blue top and a few more of his jaw dropping designs here and in the 4th minute of video attached at the end of this post.
Darlings you ever pulled out an item of clothing, got ready to spiff all the way up and oops, it’s falling off you? Hahahaaa, that was the case with my yellow pants. While it's a generous straight cut, it fit like baggy pants now. So no I wasn’t trying to sag, hehe. But hey, I was pleasantly surprised that my days sweating it out at the gym are paying off big, I so did my happy dance a little longer than usual, :))). I love floor grazing lengths and this was just perfect. It makes for an elongated look. The only downside however is that the shoes were tucked underneath and perfectly hidden, :(. The fugitive in hiding is a pair of black silver spike sling backs, that little rascal! Hahaaa. I hugged my black clutch and was out the door, sunnies on head where I can reach them easily of course.
