Layered Ankara Mini Dress + Statement Necklace

What a gorgeous mix of colors in this ruffle and flare Ankara dress, styled on a gloomy Winter day, and paired with an orange Louis Vuitton bag,  Miumiu denim ankle wrap heels, and a colorful statement necklace. Thank goodness my jacket of choice was a simple denim one, albeit being distressed. This look is full of life and energy and totally cheered me up, no pun intended. 

  Meet Idu, the latest Ankara enthusiast. 
You guessed it. I’ve been bit by the Ankara bug. To my friends that encouraged me to give it a shot, I say 'look what you’ve done'! You created a monster! 

The Ankara trend is in a league of it's own and is growing like wildfire. I dipped my toe in the trend here with a top. This time around I bit a little more and went for a dress. What’d be next, a trench coat? Ha! 

This fun and flirty dress checks every box for me. I couldn’t stop admiring <<drum roll>> ME! Cat walking, twisting and twirling in front of the mirror for hours minutes on end shame on me but that’s how much I loved it. Has that ever happened to you? Loved someone something so much you just couldn’t help yourself?

This look wasn't planned and honestly I’d have never thought to pair all these pieces together. But then Africans dress very richly and colorfully. So to pull off an African print look, best be prepared to embrace colors. Less More is more. And my love for colors doesn’t usually go unnoticed especially when there’s my favorite color purple in the mix.
