I Chose Black

If you know me well, you’d know that my birthday means the world to me and even with life being as fast paced as erm, my teaching, (Ha!) I still take time to celebrate me. 

It could be throwing a party with many invited guests or with a few but it’s first and foremost a celebration of myself where I take time to recognize and acknowledge me. 
It’s an act of self love, a tradition. 
And why the heck not!

So when March 1st rolls around each year, you can be sure that I’d commit to who I am and to loving on myself. Look back on my last birthdays here, here and here and here. 

With Pantone’s color of the year being coral, eye popping 70’s colors like oranges, lime greens, hot pinks, and teals are expected to continue trending this year. Last year I wore pink on my birthday but this year ‘I CHOSE BLACK’. A backless long gown with a killer slit and cut outs. The drama is kicked into higher gear with the flowing skirt that gives a formal ball vibe.

Black, a classy yet sophisticated neutral shade that everyone can pull off is an easy/go to way to look fashion forward for any occasion. This particular attention grabbing gown complete with a bolero is an epitome of fun regardless of it’s subdued color. 

I paired this with a pair of black heels that scarcely showed and a gold clutch for an unbeatable combination. A French manicure was all I needed to look extra polished, ;).
