Emerald Pucker

Hey y'all! I hope you're enjoying your week, I am! Getting those last summer kicks in. So the mood struck and I stepped out of my comfort zone and just like a piece of jewelry, I wore emerald green (yes it was green, the lighting makes it look blue) lipstick and an almost shoulder grazing pin earing for a spin at the VooDoo Rooftop Lounge at Rio Las Vegas. Unconventional lippy colors have been making their rounds but it was still a little terrifying to pull off and definitely took a minute to grow on me.
I had intense eye make up with nude lips earlier but laziness got the better of me so I opted for a black felt hat to keep the eyes in check and dermablended my tatts to keep it from competing with the lips.  The emerald lips stayed popping as the star of the show or should I say star of the look and ta dah! That thing stayed on like lip stain and needed minimal reapps all evening. And yes people did look twice, Ha! Will you buck your beauty fears and try any unconventional lip colors anytime soon? Wait, you might have a non life threatening heart attack upon seeing your reflection in the mirror but just tone everything else down and you'll pull it off effortlessly…#iducation. And if you've tried it how did you pull it off? What worked/didn't work? Much as I love colors I went for a monochromatic black look again to prevent clashing with the lippy. The lighting in the suite was totally off, but I managed to get a few not too shabby shots in. Do take a look...

    1. Hi there Uju! You can definitely ease into this using a purple shade. Mac Heroine is a great one, looks great on dark brown beauties as well as lighter skinned sisters which is why I think Mac brought it back. Ka'oir has some lovely colors as well. Best part of it is they have matching glitter in case you want to spice it up some. Oh and thanks a lot, :-)...
