Tulip Sleeve Dress + a Layered Topper

The past few seasons have been all about statement sleeves! Dramatic sleeves that steal the spotlight including bell, cold shoulder, tulip, oversized, balloon and extended stay populating my Instagram feed. Both high end and high street brands are churning them out with each collection outdoing the prior. Go big or go home!

 Oh fashion, can’t live with it, can’t live without it!

The first time I saw this dress, I fell in love with the lovely statement making tulip detail. And I dared to style it with another statement piece, a layered topper. Who says two statement pieces can’t be styled together without clashing? Hey, more is more sometimes, keyword sometimes, Ha!

This attention grabbing sleeves come in a longer length but I went for the shorter as longer sleeves can tend towards being impractical sometimes. 

Statement sleeves are definitely becoming a staple, what style whets your whistle? While balloon sleeves have a a very special place in my heart, extended sleeves are what I work into my OOTD more often that others. 

The Layered gingham topper was kindly sent me from The Kemist. I styled a similar style of theirs here. I love the zipper detail and kept it down for an effortless look. Just because hats will always be 'a thing' for me, I went for a boater hat to complete the look. 

I’ve also styled this topper zipped up with a belt to accentuate the waist. Would you like to see that look? 

How’s everyone going? It’s the last days of the school year and it has been crazy busy. I’m looking forward to Summer vacay even though I’m staying local for the most part this year. What are your plans for the Summer?
