Everyday should be Valentine’s day. And everyone should be celebrated everyday. Yay or nay? I say yay. Hello FI readers, welcome back!

How are you spending your day?
Are you headed out to see 50 shades of grey or watching ‘A Frozen Flower’ for the one millionth time? Dinner out? Stay at home date night enjoying only pink and red starbursts and red velvet truffles? Graphing conversation hearts? Hehe. Enjoying the cliche’d heart shaped box of chocolates? Here are a few movie suggestions to make that home date truly magical. Note that you may cry a little but for the most part you’ll laugh a lot. Thank me later, wink.

Warm Bodies starring Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer
2 days in New York starring Chris Rock and Julie Delpy
Weekend with Tom Cullen and Chris New.

And a few suggestions to further spice up this day that is globally devoted to celebrating love and companionship:

-Scavenger hunt that leads up to very well thought out gifts are so fun. Use sticky note to leave clues that lead to the gift. The anticipation is the best part of this. Have fun.

-Shake things up, think outside the box and do something different you haven’t done before. Something so memorable it will live on both of your minds for years and years to come. Who knows, it might become that fluffy story you recall with giggles every Valentine’s day. Don’t we all love ‘remember when’ stories :).

-Skip the cliche outing/gift, and have a quiet time together with a masseuse and Celine Dion’s ‘Because You Loved Me’ or Whitney’s ‘Greatest Love Of All’ / ‘I Will Always Love You’ playing in the background. Ahh, we live for these quiet moments where no words are needed, and love is so thick in the air.

And what are you wearing? No better day than today to sport a red dress right? Or are you going against the grain and wearing a color from the opposite end of the spectrum? Just look fabulous, as I trust you will, :).

Since I don’t wear the color of love very well, and I don’t like to blend in either hehe, I opted for the next closest color - pink. My Valentines day outfit of choice is a very luxurious ankle grazing high waisted skirt with layers of matching pink lace peeking out from underneath, paired with a an embellished heart racing bra top and a cropped white jacket. The perfect accessories - a dainty bracelet/ring, bejeweled pink/gold sandals and a hot pink clutch. Playful, flirty and fun.

Enjoy a cozy, blissful and magical day with your cuddle bunny. However you choose to spice it up, laugh, love and enjoy the moments. Happy Valentines day, Xo…

Because Love Never Goes Out Of Style

Thursday, January 22, 2015

Wearing separates is always fun as they give you ample styling opportunities. I love the bold pattern on this top and the bright colored floral pattern on the skirt that showed an endless stretch of legs. Full skirts are a timeless classic, always trendy and lend themselves to successful prints mixing. Pair your full skirt with a crop top for a light, airy and flirty feel.

Crop tops have definitely earned their place as a fashion staple, sticking around season after season. They come in different lengths. My top grazed the top of my skirt and was snug for a fit and flare flattering and waist accentuating effect. I had a black blazer over the top to ward off the chill and the long hair yet again to keep my neck and ears warm and toasty. Who needs a scarf when you’re wearing your hair long right? Lol, Xo..

Keep Calm And Print On

Thursday, January 15, 2015

Wearing certain colors has been a little daunting for me because even though I admire them, I don’t feel like I can pull them off. Yellow is one of those colors. I don’t know of a lot of people that think they look great in yellow, including myself :(. But now I’m thinking that if you find the right hue that works perfectly for your skin tone, you can actually pull off any and every color. I am definitely seeing yellow in a flattering new light. The mustards, marigolds, neon yellow, or even set in a vibrant print, I’m experimenting, relaxing into yellow, the color of friendship and happy. I'm putting aside some or all of the caution that held me back prior and letting the color yellow butter me up. And guess what? I'm loving it.

I took a break from prints and embraced monochrome in this bright yellow dress. The color yellow stimulates the feel good feelings in our brains and honestly, my affinity to it is in full bloom. My bold yellow dress of choice had an architectural structure that made it even funner. I was going to pair it with a beautiful stripped black and white fur vest. A look in the mirror screamed ‘bumblebee’. I love bumblebees but not on me, lol. So I played it safe with a long black coat instead. Will I be stocking my closet with the color me happy yellow? Heck yeah, I plan on it. I’m going sunny side up in tune with my new found love for yellow. Why blend in when you can stand out  in a bright hot hue? Do you yellow? Do you love? Does it fill you with dread? Follow the rule of thumb and start out with one accessory to brighten up your look and work your way up. Have fun, :)...
