"If I had my way, I’d wear jewelry, a great pair of heels and nothing else.”
 - Jada Pinkett Smith

Dare I add ‘I’d be draped in jewelry from head to toe.’ Like I say my love for statement jewelry is no longer a secret. Welcome back FI readers!

How has everyone been? So I got injured in a crash last week and all I wanted to do over last weekend was lay in bed. Didn’t get to go out and take pictures and for the first time I skipped posting. Had to take care of me but I’m better than ever and I’m back. Thanks so much for the calls, messages on iG and FB, texts. All that goodwill. Sheesh I am loved (dancing emoji)! Thank you darlings, I love you  right back.

How’s this necklace for a piece of jewelry? Did you just say ‘Now this is cute?” I heard that, hehe. Those who know me know that this is PERFECT for me. Huge thanks to Takai By Angela for another stunning piece. This multicolor Crystal necklace is as unique as it is beautiful. With different colored crystal pieces cascading down and finishing off in a beautiful V, beyond amazing! The tiered structure of this necklace worked beautifully with the slight V neckline of my camisole and like most bib necklaces added some dimension too. Need I say more? Lol...

But wait, if this stunner just got on your 'lust list' then you should head on over to Takai By Angela and treat yourself to one. Too bad you may not get it in time for mother’s day but knowing that this has been added to your arsenal makes it worth the wait. I promise, you’re going to be shaking things up with this lovely piece. I can just imagine how perfect the sparkly crystals will look with a LBD. Go make a statement, thank me later, ;).

The trending palazzo pants are easy to dress up or down. They’re perfect with sandals and great with heels. And don’t we all love a great versatile piece that’s perfect for both casual and formal use. These soft wool pants are elegant and flattering. It has this sportswear meet runway feel to it. I love the flat front effect thanks to the overlapping button closure that has a flattening effect on the stomach. So I wore my jacket open with confidence for a chic and effortless look. A crop top or even a tee works well with these pants as well.

Impeccable quality and so much attention to detail reign in this white blazer The slight peplum bottom creates a perfect silhouette while the 3 button detail, an unexpected and fun touch add some structure. And boy do I love structure! Other details like the chain closure and the faux pockets make this piece a wardrobe staple that will look just as fantastic paired with tailored pants, skinny jeans and even leggings as it did with the chic palazzo pants I paired it with.

How are you styling your wide leg pants? Your statement jewelry?

"One is never overdressed or underdressed with a Little Black Dress”
 - Carl Lagerfield.

I love this outfit so hard. My initial reaction to it? THIS IS ONE HELLUVA LITTLE BLACK DRESS AND I AM IN LOOOOOVE! It’s lacy, its got pops of color and a fun little top hat that added an oomph and spiced it all the way up. Charming! So freaking adorable! Hello FI Readers, welcome back!

Little Black Dress and a Top Hat

How are you handling the in-between season transitioning from Winter to Spring? You want to pull out your springy wardrobe but it’s not quite warm enough. And it appears that Spring weather is taking it’s sweet time this year. It's been nothing short of a roller coaster, warm one day chilly the next. I say light sweaters and maxi skirts to the rescue. Hello FI readers, welcome back!

Tulle skirts in mini, midi and maxi lengths are maintaining their staying power. They're also holding their own in terms of versatility. Dress them down for a casual outing with the girls where you twirl the night away (cos a tulle skirt will have you doing that in no time :-) ) and be the envy of all or dress them up for a formal and very chic event, the tulle skirt promises to be a head turner.

This gorgeous piece with many layers of black/brown tulle and frills for volume and mini copper sequins cascading down and peeking out from under the layers for an edgy vibe is just what the doctor ordered. Long enough to ward off lingering cool temps yet light enough for mild Spring weather. I am honestly so in love with tulle skirts in all lengths, have collected quite a few and really love seeing other bloggers twists on them.

This crop top with a mock turtle neck and long sleeves caught my eye because of its rich warm mustard color. Pairing it with the fancy high waist maxi tulle skirt created a perfect figure flattering fit and flare silhouette not to mention an elongated look. If you are not comfortable baring your midriff, a high waist skirt or pants is a great way to rock the crop top trend and not feel over exposed. I completed this fun, dramatic and very girly look with a statement necklace, one of my very lovely birthday presents and glitter sandals 'cos feet want to flex sometimes too, hehe. That and a popping orange boxy clutch was sure to take this look from daytime to nighttime.

What’s your take on the tulle skirt? Loving them or hating them? Couldn’t care less? I'd love to hear all about it.

A Closet Full of Tulle, Frills and Glitter

A retro look will get you noticed anywhere, anytime. Especially if its a 70’s style wiggle dress with thick shoulder pads and big fabric buttons running down the back, done in a bright popping color like purple and paired with sunshine yellow accessories. How adorable, I say editorial! Hello FI readers, welcome back!

If I could, I’d wear a dress like this on a daily basis. Paired with heels this high and a fascinator this fancy. Retro style has made a strong comeback and we’ve been seeing the 70’s vibe on runways and streets all around us. From bell bottoms, prints, neon brights to fringe and crop tops, street style is heavily infused and influenced by this trend. I’ve been diving in. Whats not to love about sophisticated vintage style? I paired my vintage dress with modern accessories for a clean look that is not costume looking. Modern retro, hehe. I added flowers in the mix to further bring the freshness of Spring to my look. I honestly started feeling like a bride on her wedding day, hehe.

That fascinator! Is that the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen? Just like a flower in full bloom! This amazing couture piece was handcrafted, custom made and gifted to me by ADAOBIGOGO a Las Vegas based young designer. It's very avant garde and I honestly fell in love with it the moment I saw it. The care and love that goes into each of her pieces is amazing and obvious. Her website is still under construction but you can find her on iG @adaobigogo or email her at dobinwakuche@yahoo.com for inquiries and orders.

So what’s on your Easter menu today? I’m not doing a lot of cooking but my signature 7 layer salad, is always a gorgeous addition to any menu and will be served for sure. I’m off to get started. Happy Easter World!
