Style enthusiasts all over are rocking the statement necklace trend in bold bright colors. You can dress up even the simplest of outfits with a statement necklace. Add a bold lipcolor for an icing on the cake effect. Or go with nude lips and let the necklace speak without words. I did both. Very captivating! Hello FI readers, welcome back!

An array of colorful gemstones make up this trendy, covetable statement necklace, a gift from Takai By Angela. From the beautiful packaging, to the very intricate details, this necklace packs a powerful punch. Just like a dream and I do dream in color, hehe. The best part is that it comes with matching equally dreamy earrings. As a big chested gal, I prefer my necklaces not to lay directly over the girls so the length of this one of a kind piece was just perfect. I fell in love with the colorful blossoms and I’ve thought of multiple ways to style this fab piece.

If you are a girl that enjoys the pretty things in life and most of us are, I urge you to stop by Takai By Angela and shop the breathtaking selection of chic and trendy items on display. Each piece is very carefully handcrafted and appears to tell a story, a beautiful story. There are designs at Takai By Angela to suit every style from simple to over the top and they all have one thing in common. Each piece is strikingly beautiful, very rich and will make any and every plain outfit into a memorable one. What I know for sure? From this crystal glass set to this emerald topaz set, you will consider every piece at Takai By Angela a must have. Grab them while they are available. Get ready to turn heads and drop jaws. Enjoy the ooooohs and ahhhhhs from admirers and thank me later, ;).

The rule of thumb with statement pieces like this is to pair them with something simple in a solid color preferably and have them remain the star of the look. Much as I love a LBD and thought it’d be great with the jewelry, I wore a black turtle neck top aka blank canvas (hehe) instead so this stand out piece still popped. I paired it with this amazing statement skirt with a long train that would get heads turning. Designed by you guessed it, Fausto Puglisi. Very unique. What's not to love? The blues from the necklace picked up the blue from the skirt and the color block mini bag. To ward off the early evening chill and add interest, I threw on a fur collar in a subtle gray color that was not competing with the necklace but framed and showcased it even more.

Your thoughts? I say glam, chic, girly, all at once…

Sweet Blossom

I know I’ve said Orange will not be the new black for me and even though it doesn't hold a candle to purple in my book, I’m here to say it’s definitely starting to grow on me. A little bit everyday. I’m injecting orange into my wardrobe in the form of accessories and loving it. It’s so bright. It’s so bold and it’s so beautiful. Eye popping too. Don’t know what took me forever to burst an orange move! Hello FI readers, welcome back!

And my birthday beat goes on! I had a nothing less than magical birthday last week. I’m literally still floating on cloud 9. Somebody pinch me, I need to snap out of it, haha. How many ways do I describe the experience? Lets see, hmmm. Pampered, waited on hands and feet, spoiled, indulged, petted, pandered to, catered to. Any more? Help! Somebody, anybody! Thanks for all the great wishes world, I appreciate and love you so much.

I’m not really a big print gal but the crisscrossing zippers and detachable bottom of this dress caught my eye and my wallet, haha. It felt snug at the waist thanks to the zipper detail that made for a banded waist. Pairing it with solid colors helped tone down the busy prints.

I am in love with this pair of ear muffs in a bright orange color. So playful and fun while keeping me cozy and Jack Frost at bay. Huge hit for me. It so matches my playful personality too and even though ear muffs are not super needed here in Cali, I want one in purple, and pink, and yellow, oh and green. Blue too. White would be perfect. And to think that my initial reaction when I saw it was, hmmm this would look silly on me but it sure is pretty. Wrong! I love!

Daylight savings began today and I’ve got a million and one things to do before I try to turn in 1hour earlier tonight so I’ll run along. Have a fantastic week ahead.

Orange Is The Happiest Color

Sunday, February 22, 2015

Hello darlings, welcome back. What ever you choose to call it, from purple, lavender, orchid, lilac, amethyst, boysenberry, eggplant it’s my favorite color and one of the hottest hues for winter. I’m yet to see anyone who doesn’t look fabulous in purple. Definitely not me.

Even tho we’ve enjoyed a few days of springy weather, its technically still winter and a dark dreary winter weather should never dictate the mood. Add a pop or more of color to brighten your day. I personally am so drawn to the crop of ultra saturated colors minus the reds. Enough said, lol.

So I am officially super excited for Fall/Winter '15/16 just from the conclusion of the NYFW. The 70’s like we expected had a strong presence. Culottes as well as flare bottoms got their grooves back this season and are not going anywhere anytime soon apparently so hang on tight to yours. Fur and fringe are also here to stay so keep fringing in bags, coats, skirts, footwear etc. Glad to see that fur will be big yet again, don’t we all love our fur? As a stole or even just a collar, it adds a huge oomph to your look so fur-on. And if you are an animal rights advocate as a lot of people are, then skip the huge fox fur trend coming down the pike and go for faux. Not much is lost in terms of looks, just carry a lint roller at all times, hehe.

Fashion is really so cyclical, we'll see what will influence the Milan and Paris designers as their fashion weeks approach. My guess is they will be throwback heavy as well. London’s on, more retro vibes? Exciting!

This post shows 2 ways I wore this slouchy coat. With leggings for a simple yet chic look and also with the trending bell bottoms for a spunky look.

By the way, are you watching the Oscars red carpet? Lupita's done it again wearing that fabulous dress with 6000 pearls! Amazing!

Have a fabulous week ahead...
