Well hello darlings! Let me start by apologizing for my long absence. Did you miss me and my musings? I did miss you! On the flip side I had the vacation of a lifetime in the beautiful Greek Island of Santorini. Have you been? I didn’t realize a lot of folks had this island on their bucket list. We finished off our getaway with fun adventures in Istanbul. Great break from posing in front of the camera I must say.
I ate and I ate some more, shame on me (hands over eyes emoji). I tried new dishes including an octopus which my students haven’t stopped “ewwing" about even after I told them it tasted just like chicken. Popeyes chicken in Istanbul though, who knew? Of course we passed! LOL. I especially miss Greek yogurt with honey, breakfast served on the balcony with unobstructed panoramic views of the deep azul Aegean sea and Greek salad which I couldn't get enough of. Lovely as the stairs leading down to our cave hotel room was, I do not miss that. (Video on the gram @fashionably_idu).
Gosh the sunset was everything. Juanetta and I had the whole boat to ourselves on a 5 hour private sunset diner cruise and now I get what all the buzz about the Oia sunset is about. It was spectacular. We met Shosta, the 65 year old and only person that lives at the foot of the volcano and even took selfies with him. He told us some wild tales, lol. We each got to skipper (not sure of the right nautical term) the boat and that was so fun.
Oh and we partied like crazy! Had to experience the night life (yes teachers do have mad spring break fun too, duh!) at the couple hot spots in town (Enigma night club, 2 brothers bar / night club) and boy do we have stories to tell about those outings. Good ones I promise, ;). We managed to make it back to the hotel about 4a:m each morning and a lady at the hotel described us as being like 2 teenagers full of life and bubbly on end.
Leaving was hard but I left my heart in San Francisco (in my Tony Bennett voice) so I’m back home to my niche, to the little cable cars and painted ladies, to the ‘YAY’ area, where I belong. If you follow me on Instagram you should have seen just a couple posts since I’m not the kind that blows up people’s feeds, hehe.
FI is no travel blog but I may share some things that grabbed my attention in upcoming posts and others will live in my phone for ever and ever and ever and ever just for my viewing pleasure on days when I need extra doses of laughter. Sorry, :(.
Wait! I have an idea - We should all go back!!! Ingenious huh?
This Spring we’re all about maxi dresses and holy cow this one deserves it’s own wind machine. Unfortunately I shot indoors in my home which is what I’ve done a lot lately since I’m so tired of scouting for locations, call me lazy. The neon green bustier top ends in a billowing full circle luxurious skirt that made for such an easy breezy and comfy fit. I can’t think of a gal that won’t look stunning in this. The best kept secret is the hidden pockets that I realized last minute existed and couldn’t get my hands out of. Diamonds Pockets are truly a girls best friend. Crafted for me by you guessed it, my friend Dwight who does no wrong in my book. Dude’s got skills! Gotta give it to him.
This elegant and charming maxi dress with a bold black and white print can be dressed down but I chose to dress it up with gold accessories.
